The beauty of nature captures hearts at The Great Falls on the Passaic River in Paterson, New Jersey. The falls are 77 feet high and approximately 13,000 years old. The falls were an inspiration to Alexander Hamilton and after seeing them, 1778, he began to consider an idea for use the falls as a water source for industrial power. Later while serving as the treasury secretary, he led in the development of America’s first industrial city around the falls. In 2009, 35 acres of the area, including the falls, were declared a national park by President Obama.
